Podcast – Pubs. Pints. People
The latest media venture by national CAMRA is the podcast – go to https://camra.org.uk/podcast/
Out every Tuesday on a number of platforms including Spotify and Apple Podcast, it is anchored by Katie Wiles, Senior Communications Manager of CAMRA HQ, and normally co-hosted by two volunteers, Ant Fiorillo and Matt Bundy. This picture is their caricature.
They chat to special guests who are asked to conclude with their ‘Desert Island Beer’ and we learn about beer writing, brewing jobs, cider making and more. Each episode includes a ‘dive’ into CAMRA’s 50-year archive (and more besides).
I (Dean Barrett) was impressed, listen weekly and duly answered the call for volunteer correspondents. Season 1 is about to end and all 20 episodes are and will be available for you to catch up – start at the beginning! They are topical, but essentially timeless – think more audio book chapters than magazine.
If you do get hooked as I was, when you ‘tune in’ to Season 2, you will hear a North Herts voice behind the interviewing mike and I have nominated some of our heroes and interesting characters as Desert Island Beer candidates.
